Confused about Eight Diagram Theory
annbgallops asks:
Question
Where is the Health area of the bagua? Some teachers say it is in the “Thunder” area, together with Ancestors/Elders/Family. Some say it is in the center of the bagua. And some even say that Ancestors are in the “Deep Water” section of the bagua, leaving Health alone in “Thunder”, I suppose. This is all very confusing. Please clarify if possible. Thank you.
Answer
You have every reason to be confused. McFengshui people are quite comfortable inventing baguas — what I call the McBagua.
For some reason these folks don’t seem comfortable with the real ones (there are two).
The differences between authentic feng shui and its latter-day imitators are quite startling.
