Negative feelings and hallways

Question

At work we have a very long hall way with many doors across from one another. There seems to be a very negative feeling in the hallway. What can be done to get the negative feeling out? Amy

Answer

First, you need to investigate “negative feeling” in a very logical fashion — there is no way to know how to treat this until you can clearly identify the problem.

If you went to the doctor and complained that you “feel kind of bad,” would you expect the doctor to be able to diagnose you adequately without running a great many tests?

Devise a very clear definition for negative feeling, such as “people in offices that face each other get into loud arguments every day,” or perhaps “eight out of ten people in offices across from each other say they feel depressed on Wednesdays between 3 and 5 pm.”

By defining things clearly you may find out what is causing this perception, or at least have enough information to enable a practitioner to help you.
